WORK TEXT

“NOT ALL MEN” combines an office-like setting with collected media fragments and objects associated with everyday sexism. Grey carpet, blinds, whiteboards, a chair, green light and a sound shower turn the familiar language of an institutional interior into a setting reminiscent of a horror movie.

From the sound shower, a synthetic voice generated from the artist’s own voice reads 32 Instagram posts collected over one month, each reporting a case of sexualised violence against women. Heard one after another, the posts reveal the repetition and scale of gender-based violence and the way it enters everyday media consumption.

Across three whiteboards, the words NOT ALL MEN confront the listener. The phrase, often used to distance individual men from discussions of male violence, is placed against this continuous accumulation of cases.

The installation also includes 155 lighters, one for each femicide recorded in Germany in 2025, connecting statistical violence with the everyday normalisation of misogyny and objectification.
