WORK TEXT


JOBCENTER is based on my own experiences of receiving Hartz IV and Bürgergeld. Although I worked continuously as an artist, my income was often insufficient to live on. Repeated appointments, documentation and the constant need to justify my situation intensified the feeling of having failed and of being dependent on a system that barely recognised my work. The installation addresses how financial insecurity and administrative control affect one’s self-image and mental well-being.
