WORK TEXT

INSECURITY addresses women’s fear in public urban space. Mattresses form a provisional walkway carrying the sentence: She walked home on the sidewalk of reality and choked on the key to her heart. The sound of a woman’s footsteps suggests that she is being followed. The construction-like structure connects the street with the bedroom and points to the fact that violence against women shapes both spaces. Yet the greater danger often lies within the home. The work traces an insecurity that follows women on their way home and continues once they arrive.
