WORK TEXT

Six heavy-duty shelving units stand freely in the room, filled with 264 ring binders. The labels have been scratched off, leaving behind traces of adhesive, tears, and stains of color. What once appeared as administrative becomes an artistically shaped surface. But what is being filed away here? Above the binders, the title of the installation flickers: I Wish I Could. On the back, a sheet of A4 paper reads: But then I wouldn’t be who I am. The shelf becomes the archive of a case that cannot be closed. Each of the 264 binders offers a sentence about the effects of domestic violence to a performed text.
